Day 4 Lincoln to Orono
Another chamber of commerce day. We stuck the golf bag in Rick’s car. He headed off to do some fishing and I pushed south along Penobscot River to meet later in the day at the club. What a treat….40 pounds lighter without all the gear and a beautiful flat winding route along the river bank.
Penobscot Valley GC was a treat. A Donald Ross design in great condition with beautiful distant views of Mt. Khatadin.
The next morning it was a short pedal back to the Bangor bus station and 4 hour ride home reliving a great week on Maine back roads, some nice golf and as always a bunch of laughs with good buddy Rick Smith. Nice way to kick off the journey to Key West.
