The travel logistics are getting a little trickier as the journey moves south. We start this leg in a rental SUV , drive the bike and GBB from Duxbury to Manhattan, drop off the rental and then get down to business for the pedal down to Va. Beach .At journey’s end, we will ship the bike and GBB back and catch a flight home. Everything went off without a hitch.read more

The trip begins early morning Wed May 3 on the NY Waterway Ferry from Wall St for the 1 1/2 hour ride to Pt Pleasant NJ and the start of 8 days working down the coast…… NJ, Delaware, Maryland and Virginia.read more
Friday May 20. Enjoyed a nice breakfast of Greek yogurt and fruit with Wayne and then pushed off for NYC. There would be no golf today and some solid mileage ahead working down Pulaski Blvd, to 25B and finally the last long stretch on the Queens Blvd before the Manhattan skyline appeared 23 miles in the distance.read more
Pushed off early from Hotel Indigo for a nice ride along State Rt 25A. Moderate traffic, little wind, decent road surface and a nice shoulder made for a pleasant ride to Smithtown Landing and 12:00 tee time with buddy John Ruggerio.read more
Short ride today and no headwind. Leaving Island's End GC it was a short 6 miles to catch the North Ferry over to Shelter Island then 4 miles to catch the South Ferry to Sag Harbor.read more
Next door to the brewery is the old Greenport Jail.Built in 1917, this brick and steel building has two cells for men and one for women with each containing a toilet, sink and wooden bench.read more
We pulled into Ferry Terminal just as the gates were closing and hopped on the Henlopen for the 1 hour cruise across Long Island sound over to Orient Point on the NY side at the tip of Long Island.read more
Another day of headwind but no golf lined up for the afternoon so will take it slow and smell the roses. Brother Nate in front of his Crossfit 401 gym in Narragansett RI just down the road from the URI. Nate, a former Rugby player, coach and official opened the gym 5 years ago.read more
Sunday May 15 brought a steady 25 mph wind out of the southwest as BGB loaded up and headed off to meet good buddies Rick Smith , Gator Cull and Robert MacAllister at Newport National GC in Middleton RI. Touring cyclists are unanimous when it comes to hills vs headwinds…..the hill will eventually end but a headwind can be with you all day. Give me a hill any day over a steady headwind.read more
