The ferry pushed off sharply at 7:30 a.m. headed for Cedar Island and the 65 mile ride down to Swansboro. The cell phone and along with it my GPS navigation has completely died and will require a visit to an Apple store to get it repaired.read more
Ocracoke is a 19 mile long ½ mile wide island known for its beautiful beaches and world class fishing tournaments. There are 600 year round residents and the island generally sits only 5 feet above sea level. There is a single paved road that runs the length of the island .read more
Nags Head in the late fall is basically empty as the summer crowds have moved on and now it is just the locals and the pace slows down.read more
Early morning Google Maps sent us on a route that took us directly past the active take off runoff of the base. There were a ½ dozen cars parked and watching as plane after plane took off. A young kid of 10 and his father were among the spectators and this little guy was veritable treasure of information.read more

It was an early morning departure from Kiptopeke in order to get down to the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel and catch the shuttle that transport bikers over and under the Chesapeake. It is an incredible structure and worth the trip.read more
Chincoteague to Wachapreague Va….todays ride left the coast and crossed into Virginia potato country. The shaded tress were a nice change after a week in the sun. Stopped for a chat with a local down on his luck farmer.read more
Spent the night in Ocean City Md and enjoyed a great band at an outdoor café and then worked along the coast to Chincoteague Island home of the famous wild horses . Got in 9 holes at the Eastern Shore club.read more
The day began with a 1 ½ hour ferry ride Cape May to Lewes Delaware. The ride began over a beautiful elevated wooden path winding through coastal marsh.read more
There would be no riding today with heavy winds and driving rain. Bike and rider jumped into an Uber and 4 wheeled it down to Somers Point. A total bummer but no complaints as this has been the only day the ride had to be cancelled.read more
