Dunegrass Partner Owner

The weather has been almost too good to believe.These words come back to haunt but it has to be said that it does not get any better than an August spin through the back roads of Maine. Todays route followed the coast from Brunswick down through Freeport ( The home of LL Bean) and into Portland. A couple of flat tires this morning did nothing to diminish the spirits on this glorious day.

Arriving at Dunegrass GC Old Orchard Beach was greeted by owner Jim Fairbanks. We had talked the previous week and he was very interested to learn about GolfBikeBag. Really nice guy. He had gone to the trouble of making sure that I was hooked with some playing partners. Dunegrass, built in 1998 was designed by Dan Maples  and today is considered one of the “must play” courses in all of Maine. Thanks  Jim…it was a pleasure meeting you and getting humbled by your beautiful track.

Check into the Seabreeze Hotel along Old Orchard Beach….funky beach town with amusements, carousels and a lot of Canadians in the summer.
